Milan, 6 May (LaPresse) – As regards the automotive sector, "the implementation of the new “Piano Italia” is continuing, following the change in leadership at Stellantis and the departure of Carlos Tavares. Over the last four months, Italian production has returned to growth and the relationship with the components sector has been consolidated, with 7 billion euros’ worth of contracts secured for 2025 thanks to the Plan". So said the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, during Question Time in the Chamber of Deputies. ‘It is precisely the components sector,’ adds Urso, "that risks being affected by any further US tariff measures, which we wish to avert, not least because many Italian firms produce for German car manufacturers that would be directly hit by the tariffs. We believe, however, that the consequences will be more limited for cars exported directly from Italy in the luxury segment, such as Ferrari and Maserati, which, moreover, have recorded a significant increase in production in recent months. Urso continues. “Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to highlight that Italian exports to the United States increased by 7.2% in 2025, despite the tariffs, and continued to grow in February and March: we are the country that has performed best among the major European nations, despite the tariffs.”
