Rome, 11 May (LaPresse) – The National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Education and Research Management Sector for the three-year period 2022–2024 was signed today at ARAN, the Agency for the Negotiation Representation of Public Administrations. It covers 7,550 school managers, including headteachers, and 360 managers at universities and research bodies. With this signing – ARAN emphasises – all renewals from the previous round of negotiations are now complete, a result achieved through constant consultation and constructive dialogue with the trade unions. The agreement provides for significant pay rises for managerial staff in the sector. For school managers, thanks in part to the additional resources specifically allocated by the 2022 Budget Law, average increases of €500 per month for 13 monthly payments are provided for, equivalent to 8.48%. For managers at universities and research bodies, the average increase is €503 per month for 13 months, equivalent to 6%. The agreement also provides for back pay from 1 January 2024: an average of around €5,800 for school managers and an average of around €6,000 for managers at universities and research bodies. The signing at ARAN represents an important step for the public education, university and research system: it enhances the responsibilities of management, consolidates the role of collective bargaining and brings the entire cycle of renewals from the previous round of negotiations to a successful conclusion.
