Rome, 5 May (LaPresse) – Detectives from the Rome Police Headquarters’ Mobile Squad, led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Stefania Stefania, have identified Massimo Di Stefano, a 61-year-old Roman already known to the police for similar offences and believed, according to LaPresse, to Manlio Vitale, known as “er Gnappa”, a long-standing Roman robber and ‘safe-cracker’ who formerly belonged to the Magliana gang. The investigations have revealed a structured organisation, with clearly defined roles and an almost military management of operations. A well-oiled system, capable of striking methodically and swiftly in various contexts, whilst maintaining a low profile for years. As ordered by the investigating magistrate of the Court of Rome, Ilaria Tarantino, the following have been arrested: Franco Tomasello, 55, originally from Priolo Gargallo and resident in Ardea; Massimo Barbieri, 46, born in Catania and resident in Aprilia; Massimo Di Stefano, 61, from Rome; Maurizio Provaroni, 63, from Rome; Giuseppe Sebastiano Condorelli, 40, born in Catania and resident in Rome; Valter Moscaroli, 65, from Rome; Roberto Farina, 60, from Rome and resident in Velletri; and Antonio Colagrossi, 55, resident in Frascati. Among the confirmed robberies is also the raid on the post office in Monte Porzio Catone, in the Castelli Romani area.
