Milan, 9 May (LaPresse) – "No… There’s only one, look, but I’ll be honest with you… Venditti… After he’d listened to us – I was there – he said to me… 'Right, he asked all… he asked all the questions, I answered, and then he said to me, ‘this will all be over soon’… he was the investigating magistrate in Pavia." This is an excerpt from an environmental wiretap on 17 March 2025 of Giuseppe Sempio, Andrea’s father, whilst speaking to a reporter. The final report on the Garlasco murder explains that Giuseppe Sempio ‘gets confused’ and confuses the then deputy public prosecutor Mario Venditti with the investigating magistrate in Pavia. Those words, they explain further, date back to “two months before the documentation was found during the search”, namely the note in which Sempio’s father had written ‘Venditti investigating magistrate dismisses case for €20.30’.
