Yerevan (Armenia), 4 May (LaPresse) – “I am very pleased to be here in Baku today. I would, of course, like to thank President Aliyev and the entire government once again for the very warm welcome we have received and for the very fruitful dialogue we had this afternoon. Today holds significant political value for me in terms of relations between our nations, as it has been a full 13 years since an Italian Prime Minister last paid an official visit here to Azerbaijan. I believe it was only right to make up for this gap, not only because of the friendship that binds our two nations, but also because I am convinced that we can still take a significant qualitative leap forward in this already important cooperation between Italy and Azerbaijan. And so, of course, I would like to thank you for the very wide-ranging discussion we have had.” These were the words of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the joint press statement following the meeting at the Ganjlik Presidential Palace in Baku with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
