Rome, 8 May (LaPresse) – “My potential allies are on a tight schedule, but I have all the time in the world. I have no problem standing as an independent in the elections, though I’d prefer not to because I’d take votes away from the right, risking a victory for the left. I am always available; we will continue to put forward our proposals in the hope that they will be considered.” So said Roberto Vannacci, MEP and leader of Futuro Nazionale, on Radio Cusano. “In recent days,” he explains, “there has been a slight opening, but my famous red lines cannot be crossed. I remain a partner for the centre-right: I do not want the next elections to fall back into the hands of the ‘No Tav’, ‘No Tap’ and so on, but for us to continue, in a pragmatic and constructive manner, to create wealth for Italy. However, I am not prepared to water down my ideas for the sake of an alliance; I would lose the credibility and trust that voters and supporters have placed in me.”
