Rome, 8 May (LaPresse/AP) – David Attenborough, regarded as the world’s most famous nature presenter, turns 100 today. To mark his centenary, the BBC is organising an event at the Royal Albert Hall in London, whilst his nature documentaries are being screened in British cinemas. Over a career spanning more than 70 years, Attenborough has brought the wonders of the planet into the homes of millions of people through cult programmes such as Life on Earth, The Blue Planet and The Private Life of Plants. His calm, recognisable voice has guided generations of viewers in discovering ecosystems, animal species and complex scientific topics such as evolution and biodiversity.
