Milan, 27 May (LaPresse) – “Let’s hope, once and for all, that serious situations like this aren’t exploited in the usual way. We need to tackle widespread crime, not just in Milan but across our country.” This was stated by the Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, on the sidelines of the conference ‘Italy’s NRRP – Creating the Model. Building a system. Shaping the future. A challenge that tells its own story' in Milan, referring to this morning’s murder at Certosa station, emphasising that “it really is” time “to be a bit more rigorous”, “too many people commit crimes and then remain at large”. ‘The only thing I feel I can say is that none of us, myself first and foremost, is downplaying the situation,’ he added, noting that ‘there is a problem not only in Milan, but throughout our world and our country’.
