Washington (USA), 24 April (LaPresse) – “I’m not giving it much thought.” This was Donald Trump’s response to a journalist’s question about what he thought of the idea of Italy replacing Iran at the World Cup, as proposed by his special envoy, Paolo Zampolli, according to the Financial Times. “No communication from the US has told them (Iran, ed.) that they cannot come,” added Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was present in the Oval Office. “However, I don’t know where this rumour is coming from,” Rubio added. The green light has been given to the athletes, but “we don’t want people linked to the Pasdaran,” he concluded.
