Milan, 17 May (LaPresse) – Bologna secured a 1-0 victory away at Atalanta in the late kick-off of the 37th matchday of the Serie A season. A result that reopens the race for a place in the Conference League, with Atalanta maintaining a lead of just three points over Bologna with one matchday remaining. The first half was played at a good tempo. Bologna were more aggressive in the opening stages, but as the minutes passed, Atalanta took control without creating any clear-cut chances. Towards the end of the half, it was Bologna who came close to scoring, with Carnesecchi making a superb save from Rowe and Castro. The second half remained evenly balanced, with Atalanta coming close to scoring through Sulemana’s header from Zappacosta’s cross. However, it was Bologna who took the lead in the 78th minute through former Atalanta player Orsolini, who beat Carnesecchi with a left-footed finish from Rowe’s cross. Atalanta’s late assault on Skorupski’s goal proved fruitless, with the keeper denying Krstovic in the most crucial moment. Everything will now be decided on the final matchday: Atalanta travel to Florence to face Fiorentina, whilst Bologna host Italian champions Inter.
