Milan, 25 May (LaPresse) – Argentina is worried about Leo Messi just a few weeks before the World Cup. The South American star, who is almost never substituted, left the pitch in the 73rd minute of the MLS match between his Inter Miami side and Philadelphia Union. Messi was therefore already off the pitch when Luis Suarez’s third goal secured a 6-4 victory for the reigning MLS champions against bottom-of-the-table Philadelphia on Sunday evening. Messi provided two assists and German Berterame scored a brace during a record-breaking first half for Inter Miami. But Messi effectively took himself out of the game in the 71st minute, touching his left hamstring at least once, and then did not even head towards the Inter Miami bench when he could have been substituted. No preliminary diagnosis of Messi’s injury has yet been announced. The player has had hamstring problems on at least two other occasions during his three years at Inter Miami.
