Rome, May 31 (LaPresse) – Winning the Giro d'Italia “is a special feeling. Being part of the club of those who have won all the Grand Tours—and thus among the greatest names in cycling—is something hard to comprehend.” So said the winner of the 2026 Giro d'Italia, Jonas Vingegaard, at a press conference at the Campidoglio after the final stage in Rome. “Vingo” admitted that he won’t be throwing “any big parties” because “the focus now is on the Tour de France. I think I can pull off the Giro-Tour double; it’s hard to make predictions, but I feel good.” Finally, Vingegaard said he had spoken with King Frederick X of Denmark: “He called to congratulate me.”
