Milan, 18 Apr. (LaPresse) – ‘Staff Sergeant Florian Montorio of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment in Montauban was killed this morning in southern Lebanon during an attack on UNIFIL. Three of his comrades were wounded and have been evacuated.’ This is what French President Emmanuel Macron wrote in a post on social media platform X. ‘Everything suggests that responsibility for this attack lies with Hezbollah,’ explains the French President, adding: ‘France demands that the Lebanese authorities immediately arrest the perpetrators and assume their responsibilities alongside UNIFIL.’ He concludes: ‘The nation bows its head in respect and expresses its support for the families of our soldiers and all our military personnel engaged in peacekeeping in Lebanon.’
