Turin, 14 May (LaPresse) – US policy on Taiwan remains ‘unchanged’. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an exclusive interview with NBC News, following talks between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. ‘Our policies on this matter have not changed,’ Rubio said. ‘They have remained essentially unchanged throughout several presidential administrations and continue to be so now,’ he added. Xi warned Trump that tensions over Taiwan could jeopardise bilateral relations, leading to ‘clashes and even conflicts’ if the issue is not handled carefully, according to reports from Beijing regarding today’s talks.
