Rome, 19 May (LaPresse) – "In the last few hours, Israel has intercepted further vessels from the Global Sumud Flotilla en route to Gaza. At present, 27 Italian nationals are being held. The vessels are expected to arrive at the port of Ashdod‘, in Israel. This was announced in a statement by the Foreign Ministry. ’Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has called for an urgent investigation into the use of force by the Israeli authorities, who, according to reports from Italian activists, allegedly used rubber bullets against the Flotilla vessels", the statement concludes.
