Turin, 5 June (LaPresse) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not submit the ceasefire with Lebanon to his ministers for approval. This was reported by the daily newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, following a security cabinet meeting held last night. "At the moment there is no agreement. Hezbollah is opposed to it and, consequently, I am not taking any decision,‘ Netanyahu reportedly said during the meeting, whilst several ministers opposed a ceasefire, particularly following the announcement of the death of another soldier killed in southern Lebanon. ’If Hezbollah gives its consent, I will submit the ceasefire to you for approval," the Israeli Prime Minister reportedly added. Among the most hardline positions expressed during the cabinet meeting were those of far-right ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir, who urged Netanyahu to travel to Washington to support the continuation of ‘military operations’, and Orit Strook, Minister of Settlements and National Projects, who argued that it would be necessary to ‘alter the border’.
