Milan, 13 June (LaPresse) – Ali Khamenei will be buried on 9 July in Mashhad, in north-eastern Iran, according to reports on Iranian state television. The funeral of Khamenei, who ruled Iran for almost 37 years before being killed on 28 February in Israeli-American attacks, will take place over six days, starting on 4 July in the capital, Tehran. Ceremonies will then follow in the holy cities of Qom (in the north) and Mashhad, his hometown, where he will be buried. The funeral was originally scheduled for March but was postponed due to the war.
