Milan, 28 April (LaPresse) – "In the coming months, Italy’s budgetary policy will be required to fulfil its international defence commitments and address the need to mitigate the impact of the energy crisis on households and businesses. The response to the energy shock should be limited to targeted measures of limited scale and duration, preserving price signals, which are essential for guiding consumption choices and promoting more efficient energy use and the transition to energy sources less exposed to geopolitical risks. As outlined in the Public Finance Document, such measures could be funded by reallocating other budget items." So said Andrea Brandolini, Head of the Economics and Statistics Department at the Bank of Italy, during a hearing on the Public Finance Document before the joint Budget Committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
