Milan, 1 May (LaPresse) – ‘UNATRAS – the coordinating body of road haulage associations chaired by Paolo Uggè, President of the F.A.I. (Italian Road Hauliers’ Federation) – has reserved judgement on the extension of the fuel duty cut ordered by the Council of Ministers last night’. The excise duty cut, which has been extended for a further 21 days, entails a reduction of 20 cents per litre for diesel and 5 cents per litre for petrol. Palazzo Chigi has announced that further measures for the road haulage sector will be included in a subsequent decree, following discussions with the trade associations. Unatras, “reiterating that, as things stand, the national strike of services from 25 to 29 May remains confirmed, awaits prompt consultation by the Government to learn in detail the ad hoc measures designed for the road haulage sector and to be able to contribute to the enactment of effective measures to compensate for the losses suffered by thousands of Italian businesses”.
