The international community must stop the fascist Netanyahu with a decisive diplomatic initiative. Has Meloni condemned this? Better late than never, but now this condemnation must be followed by action: recognition of the State of Palestine, sanctions against the Israeli government. And then, since the Italian and German governments in the EU have said no to suspending the EU-Israel Association Agreement, let them now become the driving force behind the blockade instead." This is stated by Nicola Fratoianni of AVS in an interview with ‘La Stampa’, following the raid in the Mediterranean against the vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla. “However, Meloni, with just a single remark on the futility of the Flotilla,” continues the Red-Green leader, “has managed to undermine the benefit of condemning that act of piracy committed by Israel. How can she mock the reasons and importance of this initiative? Only she,” concludes Fratoianni, “could fail to grasp the value of a peaceful gesture that puts the lives of ordinary people at risk as they denounce to the world Israel’s drift towards becoming a terrorist state.”
