Rome, June 14 (LaPresse) – "There are real demands for equality. Men and women are equal, there is no need to protect one against the other and therefore everyone must be subject to the same rules: femicide does not exist. A crime is not more or less serious depending on the sex, skin colour or religion of the perpetrator or the victim: this is true equality. A job position is earned based on merit, not on what one has under their underwear, this is equality. Why do we not have gender quotas for blacksmiths or builders, but we do have them for politicians or managers? Just as there is violence against women, there is also violence against the elderly and there is no ‘elderly-cide’. I am against the concept of femicide; it is a murder like any other. There is no need for a specific offence." This was stated by the leader of Futuro Nazionale, Roberto Vannacci, during a press point on the sidelines of the Constituent Assembly of the party held in Rome.
