Milan, 16 April. (LaPresse/Ap) – The prize money at Roland Garros increased by around 10%, reaching a total of 61.7 million euros. The overall amount is 5.3 million euros higher than last year. The winners of the men's and women's singles will each receive 2.8 million euros, while the runners-up 1.4 million euros. The semi-finalists will win 750,000 euros. Only access to the main draw guarantees a minimum of 87,000 euros. Among other new features, there will be an opening ceremony before the men's and women's finals. Additionally, for the first time, players will be able to wear portable data collection devices on the pitch to gain insights into their physical performance. The tournament will begin on May 24 at Roland Garros, in the west of Paris.
