Milan, 12 May (LaPresse) – Luciano Darderi pulls off a stunning upset at the Italian Open, the ATP Masters 1000 clay-court tournament in Rome. The Italian-Argentinian tennis player, ranked 20th in the world and seeded 18th, qualified for the quarter-finals by staging a comeback to beat Germany’s Alexander Zverev, ranked 3rd in the world and seeded 2nd, in three sets, with a score of 1-6, 7-6 (10), 6-0 in 2 hours and 26 minutes of play.
