Turin, June 1 (LaPresse) – After months of rumours, the news is now official: Serena Williams is returning to competition. The American champion has entered the doubles tournament at the HSBC Championships, held on the grass courts of the Queen’s Club, a traditional event ahead of Wimbledon. The last match played on the WTA circuit by the 23-time Grand Slam winner dates back to 2022, when she lost at the US Open to Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic. The HSBC Championships will begin in London on June 6 with the women’s qualifying rounds, while the main draw starts on June 8.
