Milan, 12 June (LaPresse) – European allies ‘can be of great help in the future. But they haven’t been of help now.’ This was stated by US President Donald Trump in a brief exclusive telephone conversation this morning with *Corriere della Sera*. Trump’s comments come after he, speaking to La7 about the lack of European support in managing the crisis with Iran, had described the role of Western allies in achieving peace as irrelevant. Corriere della Sera reports that it asked the US president whether European allies could be of help following the signing of the memorandum of understanding with Iran. “They can be very helpful afterwards,” Trump replied. “They can be very helpful in the future. But they haven’t been helpful now,” the tycoon added.
